Critical Reflection

Module Learning Before attending this module, I had never written a 'proper' report that required following an APA style and citations. The closest thing to a report I had written, is the report I wrote for my final year project during my polytechnic days, which was, to put it nicely, bad. As for communications skills, I did not even have the ability to start a conversation, which was further worsened during my time in NS where I only worked with the same five people for around a year and a half. In other words, I was already way out of my comfort zone the moment I stepped into the class. However, through the module, I had to continuously work with skills that I was unfamiliar with and learn many more to use in the assignments. I had to learn from the ground up how to conduct research on the engineering topic I have chosen, how to cite the information I used, and how to arrange the information such that it is easy to read and digest.  The module also gave me many chances to lea

Self-assessment Student Participation

Dear Professor Blackstone,   I believe that I deserve "Excellent" for my student participation as I tick most of the requirements for it. I am always punctual, I participate enthusiastically in all classes and group activities, I take initiative to get the group discussion going (group leader) and I am an active listener. I show respect the utmost respect in all my interactions, and I have 100% attendance.  I really need the points please Thank you for the consideration. Yours Sincerely, How Kai Xiang

Research Project and Tech Report Contribution

1. Prepared the google doc to make it easy for my teammates to fill up their answers. (eg. Content page, points) 2. Delegate what to do to each of the team members. 3. Wrote introduction. 4. Came up with points to write for background. 4. Used ChatGPT to come up with issues. 5. Came up with the smartwatch google form to gather data for primary research.  6. Wrote solutions for battery life. 7. Came up with possible benefits. 8. Wrote summary of ideals in collaboration with the rest of my teammates. 9. Wrote problem statement in collaboration with the rest of my teammates. 10. Wrote purpose statement in collaboration with the rest of my teammates. 11. Rearranged points in Tech report after consultation 12.

According to the webpage ”turbofan engine” from SKYbrary(n.d.) and ”turbofan engine” from NASA(n.d.), a turbofan engine, also known as a fanjet engine or bypass engine, is the latest form of jet engine that utilizes both high-speed exhaust gasses and bypass air, amplified by a duct fan which is propelled by a jet core to help an airplane soar through the sky.  The NASA website also states that a turbofan engine is made up of an inlet, a fan, a compressor, a burner, a core turbine, a fan turbine and finally, a nozzle. The turbofan engine takes in air from the front through the inlet, which is then compressed by the core compressor. The compressed air is then mixed with fuel and burned in the burner, producing hot exhaust that will pass through the core and fan turbines and out of the nozzle to produce a thrust that will propel the aircraft foward.
